Rates & Policies

Please ask if you have questions.

Knowledge is power!

  • Rates

    Up to 60 minutes: $170

    Up to 90 minutes: $250

We can discuss an appropriate amount of time for your needs. Usually, it is helpful to have a longer session when more than one client is involved (for example, relational partners or parent & teen).

    Financial Hardship:

In cases of financial hardship, limited reduced rate slots are available at $85 for up to 60 minutes. Please ask if a reduced rate is available, as you will be expected to pay the full rate until an agreement is reached with your counselor. These reduced rates are given on a first-come basis and may be forfeited after missing two appointments without notification, or canceling three appointments in a row, even with notice.

  • Cancelation Policy

Missed appointment fee: full session fee ($170/$250)

If you know that you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, please give at least 24 hours advance notice by email or voicemail. Missing three consecutive appointments (for any reason) will result in you being removed from the schedule.

    Late to Appointment:

If you are more than 10 minutes late for a session without communicating with your counselor, it will be considered a missed appointment and the full session fee will apply.

    Appointment Reminders:

Appointment reminders are sent as a courtesy and it is your responsibility to keep track of your appointments.

  • Insurance Billing

I am not able to bill insurance directly at this time.

Please consult your insurance plan about possible reimbursement for out of network services. At your request, I am happy to provide invoices for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

    Couples Counseling

Despite obvious benefits, most insurance companies do not cover couples counseling because it is not seen as medically necessary.

    Diagnoses

If you do plan on submitting claims to your insurance company for reimbursement, we must be able to show that you are being treated for a mental health issue in therapy and assign an appropriate mental health diagnosis. I prefer not to pathologize most problems, and occasionally a mental health diagnosis can be stigmatizing. Please discuss diagnosis with me if you have concerns.

  • Payment

Payment is expected at the time of service. The easiest way to accomplish this is to keep a credit card on file with your counselor that gets charged at the end of each session.

    HSA/FSA

Health savings accounts (HSA) and flexible spending accounts (FSA) can also be used since mental health counseling is typically considered a medical expense.

    Note on Telehealth

Occasionally, unavoidable technical problems can occur during a Telehealth session. We appreciate your understanding that full payment is still expected in these situations.
